Akeredolu, Sanwo-Olu unveil Owo Anglican Diocese 40th Anniversary Logo

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State,  yesterday unveiled the 40th Anniversary Logo of the Diocese of Owo, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, as part of the activities marking the anniversary celebration.

The event which came up at the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, Imola Street, Owo, attracted men of God, politicians and the high and the low in the society.

Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,  who doubles as  Chancellor of the Diocese was also at hand while his deputy, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa, who assisted Governor Sanwo-Olu, to unveil the logo, was represented by Otunba Adegboyega Adefarati.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Sanwo-olu who donated the sum of N50 million at the event urged the people, especially those in position of authority and political office holders to use whatever they have for God.

According to him, whatever position one occupies is ordained by God and so one should use whatever he has for God.

“We must use what we have to serve God because whatever position we find ourselves today has been occupied by somebody and will also be occupied by someone when we cease to be in that position”.

The Lagos State Governor who described the 40th anniversary celebration as worth celebrating said he has to be in Owo for the Logo unveiling ceremony despite launching his re-election campaign on Saturday said he has to do it because only God gives man position and His programmes and events supercede that of personal ambitions.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, Governor Akeredolu, who commended the Lagos State Governor for his achievements and performance as the governor of his state, said his achievements will see him winning the election in his second term bid.

Akeredolu  told members of the Diocese and those present at the occasion to donate to the cause of God.

Similarly, the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend (Dr) Ayodeji Fagbemi who posited that Sanwo-Olu has done well in running the affairs of Lagos State, appreciated the governor for coming to unveil the logo despite his tight schedule.

While appreciating Governor Akeredolu for what he has done in the Diocese,  said the focus of the Diocese is to achieve all their plans, including the Diocesan Clinic, which is to be established for the use and good of the people.

Governor Akeredolu had on November 22, 2022, addressed a Press Conference in his position as the Chancellor to herald activities marking the anniversary celebration.

Meanwhile the celebration continues with other programmes as the Epiphany and 40th Anniversary will come up on January 6, 2023, between January 23 and 25, 2023, revival across the Diocese, community service on January 28, 2023.

Other activities lined up for the celebration are medical outreach, sporting activities, planting of trees and many more .
