Akeredolu visits Owo rainstorm scenes

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has visited the scenes in Owo where rainstorm which accompanied the first rain of the year in the ancient town wrecked havoc.
The governor who could not hide his shock at the level of devastation that occurred said the effects were heartbreaking whose monumental losses, words could not appropriately describe.
“I don’t think I have seen this nature of disaster in recent time. It is the will of God and I sympathize with the victims.
Governor Akeredolu who was conducted round the worst hit areas and called on residents of the state to embrace tree planting around their houses to serve as wind-brakes.
He said, “I think the time has come that we should go green, plant more trees around our houses, they do brake winds especially if you have a bigger compound, let us plant more trees”.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale and the Head of Service, Mr Oluwadare Aragbaye accompanied the governor on the visit.
