Akeredolu’s 2nd term inauguration begins tomorrow

Akure, Ondo State capital will be agog on Tuesday as a foremost banker and President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina mounts the podium to deliver a lecture marking the second term inauguration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The lecture scheduled to hold at the International Culture and Events Centre, (The Dome), Akure, has as its theme: “Towards A New Nigeria: From Federal Fatherism To A Commonwealth.”
Adesina, former Federal Minister of Agriculture’s Lecture is part of lined up activities marking the second term inauguration of Governor Akeredolu and the deputy governor elect, Lucky Aiyedatiwa
Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, Chairman Caretaker and Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, would be the Chairman of the event.
Briefing journalists on the six-day activities in Akure, the deputy governor-elect who is also the Chairman, inauguration committee, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa said the swearing-in ceremony would take place on Wednesday February 24 alongside the inaugural dinner at the same venue later in the evening.
He added that there would be commissioning of projects, School debate and presentation of awards and Laurels won by public schools on Thursday, to be followed by Kegite gyration by 7pm.
The deputy Governor-elect further disclosed that Friday 26, the fourth day of the inauguration ceremony, is fixed for Jumat service by 1pm at Owo Central Mosque and would be followed by Inaugural Feast on Saturday 27th across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
He said the event would be rounded off with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday February 28, at Saint Andrew’s Anglican Cathedral, Owo.
Aiyedatiwa announced that everyday event was strictly by invitation to comply with protocols for COVID-19 prevention.
