Ondo State Acting Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele have led Permanent Secretaries and other top government functionaries to thank God for the 67th birthday of the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The service held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, was to thank God for His faithfulness in the life of Governor Akeredolu, his family and the entire state.
The Acting Governor, while fielding questions from journalists at the event said the state cannot but thank God for sparing the life of the governor to witness his 67th birthday.
Aiyedatiwa noted that though Akeredolu was not physically present and was still recuperating at the moment as a result of his recent medical vacation, the state was thankful to God for sparing him.
‘We ‘ve come together to say thank you to God for spearing his life to mark his 67th birthday…. We cannot but pray that God’s perfect will be done in his life,’ Aiyedatiwa said.
In his contribution, the state Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele, who described Governor Akeredolu as a thorough breed and objective leader with a midas touch, said the public servants in the state owed God a debt of gratitude for his life and the trooping out of the top notch for the thanksgiving was a way to demonstrate it.
‘The public servants are very appreciative of what Mr Governor had been doing and the only thing we feel we should do at this time is to thank God for sparing his life to celebrate his 67th birthday, expressing hope that God will grant him speedy recovery to return to the state soon.
Reverend Canon Oluwasina Ajayi who delivered the sermon at the service, prayed for the quick recovery of the governor just as he prayed for the state.
Permanent Secretaries, General Managers, Accounting Officers as well as other top government functionaries graced the service.
