Akeredolu’s arrival: APC lauds people’s display of love

The All Progressives Congress, Ondo State chapter has expressed its appreciation to the good people of the State for trooping out enmass, last Friday, to welcome the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, back to the state.

The party, which was elated to see its members who took time off their schedules to welcome the governor, assured the people of the state that the government would continue to do the bidding of the people in ensuring that the dividends of democracy, growth and development of the state are enhanced.

In a statement, made available by the state party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Steve Otaloro, the party appreciated the people of the state for their love for the governor and the party, to have come from different parts of the state to the state capital and endured the scorching sun for many hours at the airport, waiting for his arrival.

It stated “We are using this medium to thank you all and assure you that the government would continue to do the bidding of the people of Ondo State in ensuring that the dividends of democracy, growth and development of the state are enhanced.

“The government has within the last two and a half year in the saddle, touched the entire sectors of our state’s economy by massively developing infrastructure, building capacity, ensuring growth of economic activities in the state, increasing Internally Generated Revenues without necessarily increasing taxes and levies.

“We thank the good people of Ondo State for their peaceful coexistence.

“We appreciate the people for the support given to our party in the last two and a half years, thereon”.

Similarly, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr.Bamidele Oleyelogun, described the rousing welcome given to the state governor by the people of the state on his arrival to the state as evidence of love and support the people have for the governor.

Oleyelogun attributed the wide jubilation that greeted Akeredolu’s arrival to the state after some weeks of working leave in Abuja to unshakable confidence the people have in him, describing governor Akeredolu as a man of high integrity who is committed to the socio-economic transformation of the state.

The Speaker who led other lawmakers in the Assembly to welcome the governor at the Akure Airport said everybody was happy and in high spirits to see the governor come back, refreshed with full vigour to continue his good works in the state to further positively impact the lives of the citizenry.

The Speaker explained that the governor has done so much in the state in terms of regular payment of salaries, infrastructural development, improved health facilities, youth empowerment and so many other positive and life-transforming projects across the state.

” We were with him in Abuja and we saw what he was doing to develop our dear state. Everybody wants all the good works to continue.

“The governor has been performing his duties even when he was away in Abuja, and now he is back he would continue his good works for the people of the state.

“We want to assure the good people of the state that we the legislators are ready to give him necessary support and work with him to take the state to the next level of greatness.

“Look at the issue of our autonomy. Arakunrin Akeredolu is the first governor in the whole country to set up a committee to look into this, and by the time the committee submits its report I trust him he would be the first governor to approve the autonomy,” the Speaker added.

He appreciated God in the life of the governor and commended him for his passion and commitment to the development of the state, just as he solicited for more support from the people to enable him do more for the people.
