Chief Medical Director of General Hospital, Idanre, Dr. Kayode Omishogbon has described Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a responsive and considerate governor who is always sensitive to the plight of his people.
Omishogbon made remarks while featuring on a Radio Nigeria Positive FM 102.5 live Programme, “Guest of the week” monitored in Akure, Ondo State. He lauded the Governor for his efforts and the various measures that had been put in place to control the COVID -19 pandemic in the State.
He said if the people had fully complied faithfully with the directives which the State government had given, the situation would have been different from what is on ground now.
He lamented that people still refuse to practice social distancing, wearing of nose masks and other preventive measures which the government enjoined citizens to adhere to.
The Medical Doctor who had worked in different parts of the country also expressed unhappiness at the fact that security agencies were sabotaging the trans state movements of people by compromising their moral responsibilities to man the state boundaries and forestall transferring the coronavirus from other states to Ondo State.
While commenting on the Doctors’ strike Dr. Omishogbon, opined that Governor Akeredolu would give quick answers to the demands of the health workers because, as he said their demands for better service like provision of Personal Protection Equipment. etc were for the general benefits of the populace.
According to him, a Health worker struck with Malaria can still manage to attend to patients but with COVID -19, that is another issue entirely.
He used the opportunity to thank the State Government for its unflinching assistance to the hospital which he revealed will soon start eye surgery in addition to other enviable facilities that are now in place in the hospital through communal efforts, prudent management of Internally Generated Revenue and his own personal resources.
