Akingbaso’s defection to APC major boost – APC chieftain

The defection of the federal lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been described as a landmark gain for the ruling party and a setback for the main opposition party.
The defection was attributed to the leadership qualities of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idanre Local Government, Chief Tobi Akinlalu, made this known in a chat with The Hope.
He said Akingbaso, a member of the House of Representatives who has won elections against the odds, is a notable political figure whose popularity and experience would further strengthen the APC’s chances in future elections.
Akinlalu, the pioneer chairman of Idanre Local Government, stated that all the efforts put in place by the President would soon yield the necessary results that will lead to a better Nigeria.
He noted that although the President is performing well, the challenges he inherited have made his job more difficult. However, he expressed optimism about the country’s future.
“There is hope for Nigeria. In fact, President Tinubu is doing a great job and putting in strong efforts to revamp the economy and reorder society. But all these dreams of a better Nigeria cannot be achieved overnight.
“It takes time, but we will get there, as things were too messy before he assumed power. I am optimistic about a better and greater Nigeria,” he said.
