Akinlosotu commends Ondo NSCDC on diligence, residents’ protection

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, has hailed the courage, resilience, and diligence of the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

While meeting with the Commandant of the Ondo NSCDC, Oluyemi Ibiloye, Akinlosotu said the security of the state is a major cardinal policy thrust of the Aiyedatiwa administration. The Ministry of Information and Orientation’s mandate is to ensure the free flow of information and to drive the policy by protecting the lives and property of the people of Ondo State.

Mr. Akinlosotu described the establishment of the Amotekun Corps in the state as timely, stressing that this initiative has made Ondo State the most peaceful in the country.

He further commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for procuring and distributing 25 high-grade Toyota Hilux vehicles to security agencies to boost enforcement in the state.

Responding, the Ondo State Commandant of the NSCDC, Oluyemi Ibiloye, said his official visit to the Ministry of Information and Orientation was part of efforts to solidify the cordial relationship between the two parties.

Mr. Ibiloye remarked that Ondo State has been peaceful since he assumed office as the 20th NSCDC Commandant in the state.

Pledging the continued support of the Civil Defence Corps towards the security of the state, he said, “We are partners in progress and stakeholders when it comes to the people. We are both working to ensure that the people’s lives are safe. We will continue to protect the lives and properties of the people. Security-wise, the people of Ondo State will attest that their stay has been worthwhile.”

Mr. Ibiloye further noted that the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC) is an initiative to address the serious challenges of school attacks and their consequences, which have caused a large number of children to drop out of school in Nigeria.

He urged the state Ministry of Information to help propagate the agency’s plans and programs to the public to ensure a free flow of information.
