Akinlosotu tasks information officers on effective delivery

The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, has charged information officers at the local government level to be more effective for better service delivery at the grassroots.
Speaking at a meeting with the information managers, Akinlosotu said the gathering was to enable him to interact with them, hear their challenges, and chart a way to achieve the mandate of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration.
“The role of any information officer is to strategically communicate government policies, which must be put out timely, accurately, and effectively, and disseminate them to the public. This is important as citizens must be aware of all state government policies and programmes,” he said.
He advised them to add value to their offices, cooperate with one another, and work with the head of the local councils, noting that the local government is the closest to the people.
Akinlosotu said he would talk to his colleague in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to create a Department of Information in all the council areas of the state.
He promised to work with the information officers and come up with enhancement programmes.
