Akinyelure, Omolafe dedicate victory to people

Senator-elect for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Dr Ayo Akinyelure and the House of Representatives-elect for Akure North/South Federal Constituency, Mr Adedayo Omolafe have thanked the people of the Senatorial District and the constituency for the overwhelming support given to them during the last Saturday’s National Assembly election.

The duo of the Peoples Democracy Party appreciated God for their victories in the last poll.

The appreciation was contained in a separate statements signed and made available to journalists in Akure.

 Akinyelure said his winning convincingly was as a result of the goodwill he enjoyed from the voters.

He called for the support and cooperation of everybody including his co-contestants to move Ondo Central and by extension Ondo State forward declaring that his victory is for all

The statement read ” I wish to thank the good people of Ondo Central Senatorial District for the support before, during and after the just concluded National Assembly election that I won convincingly with highest number of total valid votes cast in the senatorial Election that eventually led to my declaration by INEC Returning Officer at exactly 12 midnight on Sunday 24th February, 2019 as the declared winner of Ondo Central Senatorial Election, freely and fairly contested.

On his part, Omolafe lauded the people of his constituency for coming out en-mass to elect and entrust him with their mandates to represent them at the lower chamber for the next four years.

He said the overwhelming vote and solidarity of people for him during the poll made him feel elated for their unflinching support in the build up to the election despite the postponement of the earlier scheduled election.

Omolafe, who described his emergence as a clarion call to serve people with robust and quality representation promised to be exemplary.

“Let me assure you the good people of Akure North and South that the journey for a greater and prosperous constituency has begun, the bus has left the terminal and the destination is victory for all. We must come together, more united and determined than before.”he said

He appreciated his co-contestants for demonstrating the spirit of sportsmanship as he noted that there is no victor and loser and promised to remain magnanimous in victory to embrace advice that will further move the constituency forward.
