Akoko Leaders Forum has called on sons and daughters of the region in politics to play the game with decorum and according to its rules.
The Spokesperson of the group, Chief Ogundare Eleegun from Ogbagi Akoko and elder James Oladetohun another frontline member of the group who is from Ikare Akoko, made the call in a chat with The Hope on Thursday.
The duo said it is time for Akoko politicians to play politics that will bring development like good roads, electricity, pipe borne water, security of lives and property to the area as the region is known for poor infrastructural development.
They said that involvement in thuggery is not what the area expects but progressive politics without bitterness, acrimony and destruction of lives and property.
The group condemned the political clash of which happened at Oba Akoko on Wednesday between APC and PDP supporters.
They termed the clash as very undemocratic coming 60 years after independence and 20 years of uninterrupted democracy
Cautioning politicians not to engage in any act that could truncate the nascent democracy, the group urged security agents in Ondo state to be more proactive and curb violence and disturbance now that the governorship election in Ondo state is very close.
