Akoko N’East chair commissions fire truck

By Adeboye Ado

In a move to strengthen emergency response capabilities and protect lives and property, the Chairman of Akoko North-East Local Government, Mohammed Olawale, has received a fully equipped firefighting truck.

The fire truck, donated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was officially commissioned at the fire service station in Ikare Akoko by the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Mufutau Folawunmi, who represented the Chairman.

The vehicle was immediately handed over to the fire service agency for deployment within Ikare and its neighbouring communities.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman urged residents to exercise caution when handling flammable materials such as gas, fuel and electrical appliances, emphasising that prevention is key to avoiding fire hazards.

He advised that, in case of emergencies, citizens should promptly contact the Fire Service Agency, noting that the new fire truck is a resource dedicated to safeguarding the community.

Olawale also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his steadfast commitment to grassroots development and for prioritising the safety of lives and property throughout Ondo State.
