The Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Mohammed Olawale, has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to youth and sport development across the state.
Olawale gave the commendation while speaking after the Akoko North East U-17 football team put up a spirited performance in a 2–2 draw against East Young Stars in the ongoing O’datiwa U-17 Football Competition.
He described the governor’s investment in sports as practical demonstration of his passion for youth empowerment and talent discovery, noting that the ongoing tournament has provided a platform for young players to showcase their potential.
“I sincerely appreciate the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to youth and sport development across the state,” Olawale said.
The council boss praised the Akoko North East U-17 team for their determination and teamwork, stressing that their performance reflected the strength and resilience of the local government’s young people.
According to him, sports remain vital tool for building discipline, unity and community pride among youths, adding that his administration will continue to support programmes that promote grassroots development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to creating more opportunities for young talents to thrive, not only in sport, but also in education and entrepreneurship, describing youths as the “true foundation for the future of Akoko North East.”
