Akoko N’West Chair commissions solar-powered streetlights across wards

Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State has taken a significant leap toward sustainable infrastructure, as the Chairman, Esan Owolabi, launched a solar-powered streetlight project across all wards in the Council area.

Speaking at the commissioning, Owolabi noted that the solar lighting project aligned with his administration’s core priorities which includes security, economic development, and environmental preservation.

“This initiative reflects the core priorities of our administration: securing our communities, driving economic growth, and protecting our environment,” he said.

“We are committed to ensuring the long-term success of this project and positioning Akoko North West as a model for sustainable development across Ondo State.”

“This project goes beyond just illuminating our streets; it is about creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and for our people to feel safe and secure, even after dark,” he added.

“We believe that when our streets are well-lit, our communities become more vibrant, more active, and more prosperous.”

“We have also put in place a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure these solar lights continue to function effectively for years to come,” he continued.

“Our focus is on sustainability, accountability, and delivering meaningful development that directly impacts the lives of our people.”
