Residents of Ogbagi and Arigidi Akoko in Akoko Northwest Local Government area of Ondo State have expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for making Arigidi to Ogbagi road one of the roads where contractors should commence work with immediate effect.
It will be recalled that the governor recently directed contractors handling road projects to return to work.
Leaders from the two communities, Lanre Akingbade from Ogbagi and Ibrahim Ajayi from Arigidi, who spoke with The Hope said “This is commendable on the part of the governor as it showed that he is committed to continuing with the projects he inherited from the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu”.
Messrs Akingbade and Ajayi noted that the Governor’s step will enable contractors to use the dry season to do the needful on road projects.
They, however, enjoined the contractors handling the road projects to speed up the pace of work and deliver on time.
In the meantime, the duo called on the Governor to extend the gesture to the abandoned deplorable 2KM Agbaluku/Arigidi/Imo Arigidi to Erusu road awarded by former Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s administration.
Akingbade and Ajayi appealed for more security and development in boundary towns of Akoko like Ajowa, Akunu, Ikakumo, Auga, Isua, and Afin, to attract more investments to the state.
