Jimoh Ahmed, Ikare-Akoko
Residents of Ikare Akoko, headquarters of Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of Ondo State have described the levelling and dualisation of the much dreaded Okealabojuto hill in Ikare Akoko as one magic wand that has brought to end, untimely deaths resulting from the incessant road hill.
As a result, the people have continued to commend the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for the laudable project which according to them is a life saver.
Okealabojuto before it was levelled by the administration of Governor Akeredolu had remained a dreaded hill which many people believed is a home to a thousand blood sucking demons.
Similarly, while praising the governor on the ongoing road dualisation project in the town, the people said it will go a long way to transform the town both socially and economically.
Mrs Risikatu Muhammed resident described the dualisation project as the greatest thing that would ever happen to Ikare as a town.
She commended the state government for the project but asked that attention should also be extended to other township roads in the town which have all become impassable for vehicles.
Another resident, Mr. Saliu Okoja who not only commended the Ondo State Government for the project also gave a pass mark to the contractor handling the project for doing a great job.
Mr. Saliu however appealed to Governor Akeredolu to extend the dualisation project to Arigidi, Ugbe and Akungba Akoko to save more innocent lives from deaths resulting from road accidents.
