Akoko residents pray for Akeredolu’s recovery

Concerned citizens, religious and traditional institutions in Akoko have intensified prayers for the quick recovery of the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Alhaji Basiru Aminu and Pastor Micheal Lawal called for special prayers on Friday and Sunday for the governor and others who have contacted the disease.
They noted that the governor has done a lot since the outbreak of the pandemic in the state, ranging from distribution of palliatives to the less privileged, to weekly briefing and the setting up of task force to monitor and enforce guidelines and protocols.
The religious leaders had urged adherents to government’s directives in their various worship centres and avoid unnecessary gatherings.
They enjoined them to wear their nose masks in the public always ,maintain physical distancing to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The traditional ruler of Ibaram Akoko, the Olubaram of Ibaram, Oba Olusegun Atibioke in an interview with The Hope urged people doubting the existence of COVID-19, particularly in the rural areas to have a rethink .
