Akoko S’ West LG boss seeks public awareness on epidemic diseases

The chairman of Akoko South West Local Government, Mr. Ayo Ajana has called on the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, Oka Akoko annex, to intensify public health education efforts to prevent disease outbreaks in the area.
The chairman made the call during a visit by a delegation from FMC, led by Dr. Olaniyi Johnson, who came to congratulate him on his recent electoral victory and discuss key healthcare initiatives.
Johnson and the team expressed delight over the visit, outlining the center’s ongoing projects and future goals.
Ajana extolled the team and emphasized the critical role healthcare professionals play in community wellbeing.
He assured them of his administration’s commitment to collaborating closely with FMC to improve healthcare services within Akoko South West Local Government.
“I appreciate the visit and the important work FMC is doing in our region. As we work together, we must strengthen public health education, especially in preventing disease outbreaks,” Ajana said.
“Our administration is ready to actively support FMC’s outreach programmes, improve local medical facilities, and implement policies to ensure quality healthcare is accessible to every resident.”
The chairman also highlighted that his administration would focus on enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensure that health awareness campaigns reach every corner of the Local Government area.
