Akoko S’West chair urges vigilance group to uphold discipline

The chairman of Akoko South West Local Government area in Ondo State, Ayo Ajana, has called on members of the Vigilante Corps to remain disciplined and proactive in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He made the appeal during an engagement with the corps, noting the crucial role they play in complementing formal security agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in the local government area.
Ajana encouraged the vigilantes to maintain a high level of professionalism and vigilance in their operations.
In a post on his verified facbook page, Ajana wrote: “I received key delegations from the Community Vigilante Corps and the Federal Medical Centre, Owo – Oka Akoko Annex, earlier today, as part of my administration’s ongoing commitment to security and public health in Akoko South West Local Government Area.
“The first delegation, comprising members of the Community Vigilante Corps, paid me a courtesy visit to congratulate me on my recent electoral victory and to formally introduce themselves.
“The team was led by the Vigilante Commander for Akoko South West, Pastor Babalola Oluwasegun, and accompanied by the Commander General, Mr Akinwolire Taiwo.
“During our meeting, the Corps pledged their full commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of our people across Akoko South West.
“They also affirmed their readiness to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force and to strictly adhere to operational protocols in the delivery of security services.
“I expressed my deep appreciation for their visit and commended them for their proactive approach to community policing. I emphasised the critical role that local security structures play in supporting formal law enforcement efforts.
“I also urged them to remain responsive and disciplined in the discharge of their duties and assured them of the local government’s unwavering support and collaboration.”
