The Alale of Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government area of Ondo State, Oba Oseni Adu, has called on residents to promote unity and peaceful coexistence while shunning religious and ethnic discrimination.
The monarch made the appeal in Akungba-Akoko while receiving a delegation from Radio Nigeria Positive FM, Akure, led by its General Manager, Mr. Olufemi Fulani, who paid him a condolence visit over the recent fatal accident in the university town.
Oba Adu described violence and division as major obstacles to peace and development, urging his subjects to live in harmony.
Expressing grief over the repeated accidents in the area, the traditional ruler said the community was still mourning the victims of the latest tragedy.

He prayed for divine intervention and a lasting solution to the incessant road mishaps that have claimed several lives in the town.
The monarch commended the Positive FM team for the visit and congratulated Mr. Fulani on his appointment as the station’s first indigenous general manager.
He also cautioned against the misuse of technology to spread misinformation, pledging continued support for the station as a trusted platform committed to grassroots development.
In his remarks, Mr. Fulani sympathised with the monarch and the people of Akungba over the tragedy, praying that such an incident would not reoccur.
He assured that Radio Nigeria would continue to serve as a bridge for unity and development in the community.
The delegation included the Head of News, Mrs. Dupe Nsename; Head of ICT, Mr. Lanre Oluwateru; Head of Programmes, Mrs. Busola Oladimeji; Head of Marketing, Mrs. Zariat Ali; Mrs. Oluwaseyi Jimoh; and community reporter, Alhaji Ibrahim Kilani.
