Akungba residents hail Aiyedatiwa on dualisation

Joy knew no bounds for residents of Akungba-Akoko in Ondo State when Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa flagged off the dualisation of the Akungba-Ikare road.

The governor, who performed the flag-off ceremony early this week described the dualisation as more than just a physical infrastructure project, saying it symbolised his administration’s commitment to purposeful leadership and compassion for the people.

He noted that the Akungba-Ikare corridor remains a vital route for the Northern Senatorial District.

However, the residents, who spoke with The Hope in an exclusive interview , applauded the governor’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Fatai Akadiri, said the dualisation would usher in development to the university community.

“The governor has truly done a great job by flagging off the dualisation of the road. This project is a major step forward and will bring much-needed development to our community.

“It is not just about building a road; it’s about improving lives, boosting business activities, and making transportation easier and safer for everyone.

“This action clearly shows that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa genuinely cares about the people of Akungba-Akoko.

“It proves that he listens to our concerns and is ready to take meaningful steps to solve long-standing problems. We are very grateful for this bold move, and we see it as a sign that more good things are on the way.

“I always tell people that Governor Aiyedatiwa is not just talking – he’s performing.

“He is showing through his actions that he is committed to real progress. Many past leaders made promises, but he is fulfilling them. We can see the evidence with our own eyes.”

Another resident, Adeyemi Tope, said the development would drastically reduce accidents and beautify the community, as he appreciated the governor’s efforts.

“This development will greatly reduce accidents and also help beautify our community. I truly appreciate the governor’s efforts in making this possible.

“For many years, this road has been a source of worry for our people, especially with the number of accidents we’ve witnessed in the past,” he added.

“Now, with this project in motion, we can look forward to safer journeys and a more attractive environment that reflects the true potential of our community.”

Also speaking, Mrs. Jayeola Titilayo urged other residents of the state to support the governor’s laudable policies.

“I want to urge all residents of the state to support the good policies of the governor.

“He is working hard to bring about positive change, and with our collective support, we can achieve even more. Our unity and cooperation are very important,” she added.

“When we stand behind good leadership, it encourages more progress. This is our state, and it’s our responsibility to help move it forward.” she urged
