Akure ICMCelects new exco
The Institute of Chartered Mediation and Conciliation (ICMC), Ondo State, Akure branch has elected new executives that would steer its affairs for the coming years with Adewale Bamisile and Esther Aladetimehin as Chairman and Secretary General respectively.
ICMC was put in place by the state government under Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, through Ondo State Judiciary, whose members consist of all round professionals that have extensive knowledge of mediation and arbitration.
Other elected officers are Adenitan Akinboboye as Vice Chairperson, Oni Taiwo as Financial Secretary, Akinlayo Akinbobola as Welfare Secretary, and Nelson Fadoju as the Publicity Secretary.
In his inaugural speech, Bamisile said his administration would forge deeper collaborations with the judiciary and key stakeholders, so as to elevate the ICMC Akure chapter to a prestigious position, where it can favourably compete on the global stage.
As part of his programme, Bamisile said the institute would launch an epoch-making initiative scheme within the next two weeks that will provide mediation services to the members of the society, affording over four million state citizens access to invaluable mediation services.
“The initiative aims to address approximately 200 cases within the forthcoming six months, while simultaneously endeavouring to establish a harmonious collaboration with the Ondo State Multidoor Court House for court-endorsed mediation in complex cases.
“My unshakable belief in the competence of our association members to champion peace and harmony is unwavering. Our doors are wide open, poised to receive invaluable instructions, astute advice, and sagacious counsel from our erudite senior members, who have accumulated wisdom over the years”, he said
The new chairman promised to intensify collaborations with the National body and the State Judiciary to carve out an expansive space for their mediators in the state.
He expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Chairperson, Mrs Banke Olagbegi Oloba, for her unwavering dedication and the boundless energy she used to propel the association to its current standing.
