Akure, Irele, Ese-Odo standstill for Aiyedatiwa

Akure, the Ondo State capital, yesterday stood still as the State Governor and gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, took his local governments tour to the state capital ahead of Saturday’s primary.

The first point of call was the Palace of the Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas and Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, where the Governor sought his royal blessings.

The campaign train of the governor had earlier moved to Ese-Odo and Irele local government areas where he received an enthusiastic welcome by the people.

In all the three local governments visited yesterday, party leaders and supporters unanimously voiced their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa as the APC gubernatorial candidate.

Receiving the Governor and his campaign team in his Palace in Akure, Oba Aladelusi who expressed confidence in the victory of Aiyedatiwa ahead of the APC primary. also expressed gratitude to the Governor for his commitment to the welfare of the traditional institution in the state.

“Your action of promoting 62 monarchs demonstrates your genuine concern for our well-being, and for that, we are truly grateful. I am confident that you will emerge victorious on Saturday. On behalf of all the chiefs in Akure Kingdom, I hereby pledge our unwavering support for you. We stand united behind you in solidarity”, he added

Addressing the crowd of party faithful who converged on the expansive Democracy Park, Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa, conveyed his delight at the large turnout for the event. He expressed gratitude to supporters from all wards and anticipated an even larger crowd on Saturday for the primary, saying with the backing of Akure South, his victory is sure.

Earlier addressing party loyalists in Igbekebo, Ese Odo local government, the Governor said, “It has been collectively decided by our party leaders that I should continue serving as the governor of Ondo state beyond 2025. This decision mirrors the desires and aspirations of our esteemed party leaders. However, it’s imperative to acknowledge the electoral process that lies ahead.

“On Saturday, let us unite in our respective wards to translate this aspiration into reality. Unlike the main election scheduled for November, this time, instead of using our thumbs, we will convene in our wards and rally behind Lucky Aiyedatiwa. I express my profound gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, I am confident we will emerge triumphant come Saturday.”

In Irele local government, Aiyedatiwa expressed immense appreciation for the remarkable support from party members. He assured them that he would not overlook their support, and encouraged them to vote for him on Saturday.

Earlier, the Governor had paid a visit to Oba Prof. Sunday Amusehan, Kalasuwe of APoi Land, The Odogbo of Omi, Olorunsola Akinyelure.

During these visits, he expressed gratitude to the Obas for their endorsement and pledged to sustain the state’s developmental programs. The Governor also received royal blessings during these interactions.
