Ahead of the Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November this year, the Akure South APC members have affirmed their unwavering backing for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The endorsement came during a meeting of the group with the Governor on Thursday at St. James Carting Heart Mega Primary School, Irowo, Akure.

At the meeting, members of the Akure South APC officially endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa as their candidate ahead of the April governorship primaries and the subsequent gubernatorial election.

Chairman Akure South APC, Fesobi Akinmolayan highlighted a commendable aspect of Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.

He praised the Governor for seamlessly continuing the projects initiated by the late Governor Akeredolu, demonstrating a commitment to continuity and progress that is truly admirable.

“I am honored to officially endorse Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for re-election. One aspect of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership that stands out is his steadfast commitment to continuity and progress. He seamlessly continued the projects initiated by the late Governor without any interruption, showcasing a dedication to fulfilling promises and advancing the development agenda of our state.

We wholeheartedly support and endorse Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the upcoming gubernatorial elections as our candidate and we are confident in his ability to continue leading Ondo State towards greater prosperity and growth”, Akinmolayan added.

Prof. Olu Aderounmi, one of the party leaders, expressed their support during the gathering.

He said; “Everything expressed here today in Akure South will also resonate across all local governments because we are one party. One key factor motivating our support for Aiyedatiwa is his attentiveness, he has listening ears, when we raised concerns about the condition of Oda and Ijoka roads, he promptly took action. Personally, I’ve known Aiyedatiwa since 1984 when he was my student, and I wholeheartedly endorse his aspirations”

In the same vein, Femi Dennis Fadairo, Youth representative, said “As the youth representative, I have closely observed Governor Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to our state’s progress and the well-being of its citizens. His commitment to youth empowerment, education, and job creation is evident in his policies and actions.”.

Also, Stephen Abitogun, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Constituency 2, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for appointing Akure indigenes including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to significant positions.

Responding, Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi, expressed gratitude to the party and commended the leaders for assembling such a dedicated party members from all the wards.

The Governor said “We are deeply grateful for the endorsement and unwavering support of the Akure South APC, It is an honor to receive such affirmation from our party members and leaders.

“Continuity in governance and the completion of ongoing projects are paramount to ensuring sustained progress for our beloved state. We are committed to upholding these principles and delivering on the promises made to the people of Ondo State”

“We appreciate the confidence placed in our administration and we pledge to continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of all citizens. Together, we will build a better and brighter future for Ondo State”, he added.
