Ale reappointed BBN President

The Chief of Staff to the Ondo state Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale, was on Sunday reappointed , for a second term, President of Boy’s Brigade of Nigeria (BBN), Ondo State Council.
The investiture held at Chapel of Annunciation Archbishop Vining College of Theology, Oke-Emeso, Akure, was attended by his wife, Mrs Folasade Ale; the Grand Patron of BBN and Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu; Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Mr. Dare Aragbaiye and several other top government functionaries.
Ale was elected as President of the BBN for a second term by officers of the state council at their meeting/election at St. David’s Cathedral, Ijomu, Akure, having performed excellently well during his first term in office.
At a well attended ceremony yesterday, the State Secretary Organiser, other state officers and two new Patrons including Pastor Olugbenga Olumolawa and Mr. Olayato Aribo were also installed. The National President of BBN was represented at the event which was also attended by the Life Patron and Alani of Idoani, Oba Dr. Olufemi Olutoye (JP), among several other past executives.
Eight other Vice Presidents in charge of zones were also installed. They are, Revd Canon Moses Ajose; Prince Ayo Alade; Mr. Wole Oyekeye; Mr. Johnson Akinyemi; Revd Canon S. A Awolu; Ven. Kehinde Akinma; Ven. S. O Ojoowuro and Pastor Tosin Falaju.
Other state officers installed are, Mr. Rotimi Jegede; Mr. Olamilekan Olowokere; Mr. Olawanle Akinpelu; Mr. Ayodele Fadiminiyi; Revd. Canon Dami Akinboyo ; Mr. Lawrence Omoyemi; Barr(Mrs) Funmi Adejumo and Mr. Gregory Oluwafemi.
The President and other elected officers would serve for a period of three years.
Speaking at the event, Governor Akeredolu who congratulated the newly inaugurated executive members and the new Patrons on the occasion, observed that the first uniform voluntary organisation has important roles to play in societal development.
He particularly applauded the BBN officers for living up to expectation, even as he challenged the state council of BBN to be gender sensitive, and at the same time accommodate younger ones to join the system.
Akeredolu who is also the Chancellor of Owo Anglican Diocese, used the occasion to call on the church to breed Pastors and other spirit-filled men of God who can inspire and give spiritual direction to youths engaging in all forms of criminal activities in the society.
Earlier in his sermon, the Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Revd. Stephen Fagbemi, who congratulated the Patron of the BBN and Chancellor of Owo Anglican Diocese, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his efforts to productively engage youths in the state through various programmes including ICT and programs, equally congratulated the second term President, Chief Olugbenga Ale on his investitures, saying Ale was invested for another term because of his outstanding achievements recorded during his first term in office.
The Bishop challenged all the new officers to continue to effectively invest their time in the way that would honour God and benefit humanity.
In his remarks, the second term President, Chief Olugbenga Ale, who appreciated God and the officers of BBN for the honour done him, promised to work with other state officers to further take the BBN to an enviable height, with a special focus on completion of BBN building at the Archbishop Vining and assistance to the boys in various schools and unemployed youths.
The Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, described Ale as a dedicated and committed man who is always ready to give what he has to the service of God and humanity.
