A chieftain of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Cultural group, Afenifere, Chief Femi Aluko, has advised politicians to do the needful in preventing the economy of the country from  collapse.

He said politics in the country has descended to a hopeless level of taking citizens for a ride.

Aluko stated this in an interview with The Hope.

The elder statesman explained that corruption and over ambition among politicians have put the economy of the country in bad shape.

He condemned corruption and over ambition among political class and leaders, just as he noted that youths are now coming into the system with no intention to solve the problems but to join them.

According to him, “because of over ambitions, all political parties messed up in their primaries which have not been resolved”

He called on politicians in the country to emulate  the lives of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe and Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, who sacrificed and left good legacies behind.

His words: ” During my time, we discussed with people to know their plights but nowadays legislators distance themselves from people.
