Operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a 35-year-old man, Muritala Ibrahim, for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl in Agba, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State.

The suspect was apprehended after the girl’s mother lodged a complaint at the Amotekun Boripe Command office.

He is alleged to have lured the girl into his residence, where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

Sources said the suspect was also reported to have shaved part of the victim’s hair and given her another dress to wear.

Confirming the arrest to newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Adekunle I. Omoyele, said the suspect was arrested after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at the Amotekun Boripe Command. The operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the felon at his residence in Agba.

“The suspect confessed to perpetrating the act by defiling the young girl,” the Commander said.

However, the Commander noted that the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
