The mother of a 14- year-old boy, Ayomide Ajimefun who reportedly died  on her way to Amotekun office over a missing N500 has absolved Amotekun of any complicity the death of her son.

Mary Ajimefun, mother of Ayomide who made the clarification during an interview with  The Hope Metro attributed the son’s death to shock.

She denied rumours making the rounds that her son was tortured to death by Amotekun personnel. “Though I threatened him with Amotekun over the missing money at the gate of Amotekun as a result of which the boy started foaming in the mouth and became unconscious .

“It was the same motorcycle that took us to the gate of Amotekun’s office that took us to the general hospital where he was confirmed dead. We did not come down from the bike before he gave up.

“The reason why I threatened him was that whenever he went out to hawk, his money will not be complete. I suspected he was using the money for gambling and most times it was his father that will pay back the missing money.  No Amotekun officer beat or torture him.

“I ran away to my family because I was scared and I can not face his father at that moment. I don’t know such thing could happen like that, I regret doing this to Ayomide,” she explained.

Also speaking, the father of the late boy, Babatunde Ajimefun has said that “the information given earlier by people concerning the death of my son that he was tortured by Amotekun till death was not true.
