Amotekun thwarts kidnappers, saves passengers in Ondo

The Abuja-bound passengers who were kidnapped on Tuesday between Akunu, in Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of Ondo and Ayere in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State have narrated their ordeals in the kidnappers’ den.

The victims numbering about six, were rescued by a combined efforts of officers of the Nigerian Army and Amotekun Corps went after the abductors and combed the forest and eventually rescued the victims.

The rescued victims are a 74 years old woman, Madam Alicia Afolayan and Mr Kabiru Yakubu, a-29 year old man who was the driver of the vehicle.

According to the victims the incident happened around 7pm and were rescued at about 10 pm.

They said eight people including the driver were in the vehicle when the vehicle was attacked and all the passengers in the vehicle ran away as the kidnappers were using white dogs to trace them in the forest to locate them.

He explained that a combined team of Men of the Nigerian Army and Amotekun personnel rescued them in the forest.
