Amotekun’ll take off immediately – Corps Commander

The newly appointed Corps Commander of Ondo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Olu Adeleye, said the corps would begin operation immediately without further delay.
Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, had on Wednesday appointed the seasoned security expert who is a retired Civil Defence chief as the Corps Commander of the security outfit.
Speaking yesterday in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the Corps Commander promised to bring his vast experience to bear in the discharge of his mandate and duties, to further protect and secure the lives and property of the citizens.
According to him, recruitment and training of members of the corps would begin immediately after which deployment would follow.
He explained that Amotekun Corps would synergise with the existing security agencies in the state to further strengthen the security architecture and make the state free from all forms of insecurity.
He called on the residents of the state to cooperate and support the Corps in its bid to put an end to all forms of crimes including kidnapping, armed robbery, and banditry to protect the lives and property of the people of the state.
According to him, security is everybody’s business, hence all hands must be on deck to stem the rate of crimes in the state and the entire South-West region.
Adeleye promised not to be partisan in the discharge of his duties and called on all and sundry to always be ready to offer useful information that would nip crimes and criminality in the bud.
