As the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign team storms Akure North today, some chieftains of the party in the local government area have called on the residents to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Governor, and also translate same to votes in November 16 governorship election.
A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akure North Constituency, Kolawole Ologede; the Director -General of the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami Campaign Council in Akure North Local Government area, Bamidele Ologunloluwa and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye and other stakeholders made the separate calls in their campaign efforts to ensure massive victory for the APC in the coming poll.
Ologede said the call became necessary to demonstrate the strength of Akure North’s support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket of Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Adelami.
The party’s campaign team led by the Governor and gubernatorial candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will move to Akure North on Monday for a campaign rally, aiming to galvanize support from residents and further engage with key stakeholders in the community.
“The Governor’s visit is an opportunity for our people to show their loyalty and appreciation for all that the APC administration has achieved for our state. I encourage every member of Akure North to attend this rally, welcome our Governor warmly, and pledge their support for the Aiyedatiwa-Adelami ticket. Together, we can ensure continuity of progress, security, and sustainable development,” the lawmaker said.
Ologede’s call for active participation underscores his dedication to fostering political unity within Akure North and maximizing engagement with the ruling party’s agenda for growth and stability
Also, Ologunloluwa, during his sensitisation tour across Akure North, visited communities such as Ita-Ogbolu and Iju. Highlighting the importance of the tour, he emphasised the need for continuous grassroots mobilisation and collaboration across wards and units to ensure strong support for the party.
“Aiyedatiwa is the solution to our longstanding needs, our people recognise this and have fully committed to the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami project. Akure North is completely prepared for this effort, both before and after the election,” he said
On his part, Yusuf-Ogunleye, refuted claims that residents of Ita-Ogbolu and Iju communities would prioritise farming over voting on election day, describing the ward tour as a John the Baptist preparation for the governor’s arrival and urged residents to support the party’s candidate at the polls.
The Acting Chairman of Akure North APC, Victor Ayodele, expressed confidence in the party’s victory.
Similarly, Sunday Falae, a notable party leader, attributed the expected electoral success to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s impactful work.
Chief Tayo Fayanju, Chairman of Akure North Local Government area, reiterated the importance of the sensitisation tour, while Vice Chairman of Akure North Transition Committee, Aduke Adewole, highlighted the local government’s strong support for APC.
Oba Idowu Faborode, the Ogbolu of Ita-Ogbolu, offered his support and blessings to the campaign team.
