APC chairman lauds large turn-out-

Residents of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State have been commended for trooping out en-mass to perform their civic rights during Saturday’s House of Assembly election in the state.
The chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Owo Local Government, Chief Sydney Ogunleye gave the commendation while speaking with The Hope at the weekend.
Ogunleye, who said he was impressed by the large turn- out of voters described the Saturday’s election in the council as the best poll in recent time in the history of the local government.
The atmosphere at various polling units was devoid of rancour, violence as it was very peaceful.
The residents of Owo trooped out as early as 8:30am on Saturday to exercise their civil rights by voting for the candidates of their choice.
Speaking further the chairman said Owo people have demonstrated their unalloyed support for the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and have seen the massive infrastructure development in the council.
Also, an APC candidate for Owo Constituency 1 in the House of Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi expressed happiness over the turn-out of voters during the exercise.
He expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the people of the local government comported themselves to vote for APC candidates in the election.
Ogunmolasuyi applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the prompt delivery of sensitive materials in all the polling units across the entire Owo town and environs.
He opined that voters participation was very high compared to what was witnessed during the last presidential election.
A resident of the area, Femi Ogungbemi, who spoke with The Hope said though there cannot be a perfect elections, but so far was peace in his polling unit and with the presence of the security agencies there was calm everywhere.
