The Chairman of All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin at the weekend applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the choice of former Senate’s Spokesman, Ajibola Basiru as the National Secretary of the party .

He said the choice of Basiru would indeed usher in a new dawn in the ruling party, saying there is no doubt about the ability and capability of the party’s scribe to lead the party to the expected political destination.

Adetimehin who led other South West Chairmen of APC to Osogbo, Osun State capital to celebrate the appointment of Basiru as  National Secretary, hinted that all party chairmen in the zone support the choice of Basiru.

“He has the capacity to lead this party, he is a man that everybody is proud of. When he was a spokesperson for the Senate what he did then was so great that the people were proud of him. By the time he emerged as the National Secretary of the party all of us from the Southwest were happy, that is the right man to do the job.

“My message for the people of Osun is that this is an enviable position that’s given to Osun, they should rally round him to work together for us to recapture this state because Osun is always a progressive state. Osun is a pace setter  for the progressive and to me I know it’s for a short period of time, very soon we will regain our mandate in Osun.

“But I am appealing to the people of Osun to work in unity of purpose. That is the only way that can lead the party to victory in 2026 governorship election.
