APC chief, Tomisin, hails Aiyedatiwa for clearing pensioners’ hanging gratuities

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edu Tomisin, has lauded the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for rekindling hope among senior citizens through the commencement of bulk gratuity payments to retired workers of the 2014 set.

Tomisin, in an interview with The Hope, described the gesture as a mark of responsive and compassionate leadership, noting that the long-awaited gratuity payment, which begins today, would bring immense relief to pensioners who had endured years of hardship.

According to her, the governor’s decision would have far-reaching benefits, particularly in reviving small-scale businesses and improving the standard of living for many families.

“This initiative shows that Governor Aiyedatiwa truly understands the struggles of our people.

“Many of these retirees are grounded adults who have been unable to make any meaningful impact due to financial difficulties.

“This payment will restore dignity, prolong their lives, and stimulate entrepreneurship and employment in the state,” Tomisin said.

She particularly hailed the positive impact of the initiative on women, saying many of them would use the gratuity funds to expand their businesses and contribute to economic growth.

The party chief, known for her humanitarian gestures in Akure North/South Federal constituency, further noted that the governor’s infrastructural efforts, including ongoing road constructions and the Light Up Akure Project, are transforming the state capital and other areas, creating a more vibrant and business-friendly environment.

“The payment and infrastructural projects will empower women, strengthen commerce and boost community development.

“Akure residents are already proud of what the governor is doing.

“His actions show that leadership is about results, not rhetoric,” she added.

Tomisin thus urged residents to continue supporting the governor, describing Aiyedatiwa’s policies as progressive steps toward building a prosperous and self-reliant Ondo State.
