APC chieftain commends Aiyedatiwa’s development strides, fiscal discipline

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Oluwaseyi Gabriel Ogundare has applauded Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for what he described as commendable strides in infrastructural development and sound financial management since assuming office.

Ogundare, a technocrat from Imoru in Ose Local Government Area popularly known as OGO, hailed the Governor’s efforts as bold, visionary and tailored to the needs of the people.
Speaking on the achievements recorded under the current administration, Ogundare described the commencement of the first phase in dualising the Akure–Idanre Road as a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing road connectivity and stimulating economic growth in the Central Senatorial District of the state.
He also lauded plans to rehabilitate the Irele–Sabomi–Igbo Otu road in the Southern Senatorial District, stressing that such interventions reflected the inclusive governance approach adopted by the Aiyedatiwa-led administration.
Ogundare expressed confidence that more projects would be extended to the Northern Senatorial District, thereby promoting balanced development across the three zones of the state.
Beyond physical infrastructure, the APC chieftain commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s prudent financial management, referencing recent figures released by the Debt Management Office (DMO), which indicated that Ondo State recorded the highest drop in domestic debt among states in the country between 2023 and 2024.
According to the DMO data, the state’s domestic debt profile dropped significantly from N74 billion to N12 billion representing an unprecedented 82.6 percent reduction, thereby positioning Ondo as the top-performing state in debt reduction nationwide.
He attributed this fiscal achievement not only to the Governor’s leadership, but also to the role of the Commissioner for Finance, Omowumi Isaac, whose commitment to transparency and fiscal discipline, has helped reposition the state’s financial outlook.
Ogundare noted that the improved financial health of the state has led to the clearance of salary arrears, payment of gratuities and settlement of contractual obligations, which he described as indicators of a responsible and reform-oriented government.
He stressed that these feats had renewed investor confidence and elevated Ondo State as a model for sustainable economic governance in the country.
While urging residents to sustain their support for the administration, Ogundare called for continued cooperation with Governor Aiyedatiwa, in order to build on the gains already recorded and deliver further dividends of democracy to the people.
