APC chieftain slams Eborunkan over allegations against Okitipupa leaders

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Hon. Arogbo Sunday, has criticized Engr. Eborunkan Isaac (KENEBOKY) over his open letter, calling it a deliberate attempt to discredit respected political leaders in Okitipupa Local Government.
In a statement on Sunday, Arogbo dismissed Eborunkan’s claims about Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s cabinet appointments, insisting that Okitipupa’s leadership remains united.
“The letter by Eborunkan is a calculated move to tarnish the reputations of Pastor Segun Aiyerin and Pastor Femi Agagu, two esteemed figures who have contributed significantly to Okitipupa’s development,” Arogbo stated.
He emphasized the presence of experienced politicians in the local government, including Pastor Segun Aiyerin (former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative Services), Pastor Femi Agagu (former Commissioner for Education and ex-Chief of Staff), Prince Oladiran Iyantan (former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Princess Oladunni Odu (former Secretary to the State Government), and Professor Dayo Faduyile (former Special Adviser on Health).
Arogbo accused certain political elements of trying to disrupt the leadership structure by mobilizing young politicians under the guise of youth inclusion.
“It has come to our attention that an ally of Eborunkan is secretly gathering young politicians to push for a change in leadership and install a senior politician for personal gain,” he alleged.
He reaffirmed that Governor Aiyedatiwa, as APC’s leader in the state, has the sole authority to appoint his cabinet and local government officials. He dismissed claims that former Governor Olusegun Mimiko influenced the appointment of Andrew Ogunsakin as Okitipupa Local Government Chairman.
“The suggestion that Mimiko imposed Ogunsakin is completely false. Governor Aiyedatiwa is a strategic thinker who makes independent decisions in the best interest of the people,” Arogbo asserted.
He also accused Eborunkan of political inconsistency, citing his past disputes with the Agagu family.
“Eborunkan’s grievances stem from his failed attempt to remove former Okitipupa Local Government Chairman, Chief Olayeye Ayeniyi, and replace him with his ally, Chief Olufemi Beke. His political history is filled with acts of betrayal, from opposing the late Governor Olusegun Agagu to instigating the crisis that led to the removal of Professor Adeboyeje as Provost of Adeyemi College of Education,” Arogbo alleged.
He urged APC members in Okitipupa to stay united and ignore divisive individuals trying to destabilize the party.
“Pastor Femi Agagu and Pastor Segun Aiyerin are highly respected leaders, and any attempts to tarnish their reputations will not be tolerated. They have played key roles in strengthening APC in Ondo South and beyond,” he added.
Arogbo called on party members to support Governor Aiyedatiwa and focus on governance and service delivery instead of political distractions.
