The All Progressives Congress (APC) youths in South West have urged the people of Ondo State to continue giving their unwavering support to the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The youths particularly applauded the Governor for his accomplishments and persistent dedication to the welfare of the people of the state.
South West APC Youth leader, Comrade Lawal Paff Kolade, who led other APC youth leaders and members to a press conference on Thursday, particularly condemned the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for calling for impeachment of a Governor who has been performing his duties creditably well.
In their address entitled, “APC Youths Stand with Aketi”, Comrade Kolade, particularly thumped up Governor Akeredolu for his numerous achievements in the state across all sectors, just as he lauded the Governor for his decision to employ 1,000 health workers who are predominantly youths, describing the development as a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare services in the state.
The South West Youth leader disclosed that the Governor would be physically present in the State capital in no distant days, adding that calling for impeachment process against him is not tenable and cannot hold water.
“PDP is playing politics. They are fast going into extinction and they are fighting for their survival, so they can do anything to make sure they remain in the scheme of activities and the rest in the state. Their call is not tenable and it doesn’t hold water anyway “, he said.
Comrade Kolade also confirmed that Governor Akeredolu recently held a zoom meeting with traditional rulers in the state, and the he has been running his government smoothly.
He said the youths acknowledged the genuine concerns expressed by Ondo State people regarding the whereabouts of their beloved and “peoples’ Governor” while their inquiries and display of care underscored their unwavering support for his wellbeing.
“The decision of the governor to seek rest and adjust normal work schedule to allow him fully recover is a testament to his human nature, reminding us that even leaders are not exempted from the trials of flesh and blood. We are optimistic that he will soon make a complete recovery and physically join us.
“Recent days have witnessed remarkable progress in various projects overseen by the administration, affirming unequivocally that governance in Ondo State is robust and resolute,” he stressed.
The youth leader also added that the successful nomination and screening of Ayo Olawande as Minister of State for Youth underscored the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and development
While saying the government’s efforts to provide support to the vulnerable members of the society through palliatives underlined its steadfast dedication to those in need, comrade Kolade equally commended the Governor for his commitment to good governance and welfare of workers through prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements.
“It is no gainsaying that the Aketi leadership has put so much in the security architecture of the state, mostly through the Amotekun Corps along with other security agencies thereby ensuring a safe place for farmers and citizens. Today, our people can go to bed with both eyes closed.
“Infrastructural development. Several ongoing major road construction projects, of note is the first overhead bridge being constructed in the state among other initiatives throughout the state demonstrate the administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of the people “, he added.
