The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of the state and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa following the recent tribunal verdict, which upheld his election as the duly elected governor.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of the party in the state, Mr Steve Otaloro, the APC described the ruling as a significant victory for democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.
Otaloro said the tribunal’s decision not only validates the will of the electorate but also reinforces the principle that the mandate of the people must be respected and cannot be overturned through judicial manipulation by any political party.
“This verdict serves as a beacon of hope for the continued entrenchment of democratic values. It reassures citizens that their votes count and cannot be undermined by those who fail to win at the polls,” he stated.
The APC also congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa personally, urging him to intensify his developmental efforts and deliver on the promises made to the people during the November 16, 2024 governorship election.
“As we celebrate this victory, we urge Governor Aiyedatiwa to redouble his efforts in delivering democratic dividends to the people. The trust reposed in his leadership is reflected in the massive support he garnered at the polls,” Otaloro added.
Highlighting some of the achievements recorded under the current administration, Otaloro pointed to significant improvements in the education sector, the recruitment of thousands of teachers, road construction projects across the state, and investments in healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s government has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of the people, from upgrading health centres to supporting farmers and initiating various empowerment programmes for youths,” he noted.
The APC also called on opposition parties to embrace the spirit of collaboration and join hands with the government in advancing the interests of the people through constructive engagement.
“As we move forward, we appeal to all citizens and political actors to unite behind the shared goal of building a better Ondo State. Only through collective effort can we achieve meaningful growth and development,” the statement concluded.
