APC leaders reject suspension of Ondo State Chairman Adetimehin

Leaders and committed members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State have condemned the suspension of the State Chairman, Mr Ade Adetimehin.
The suspension, announced by the executive of his Ofosu Ward in Idanre Local Government Area, cited allegations of gross misconduct and statements allegedly capable of inciting anarchy.
A letter signed by 15 members of the ward executive, led by the Chairman, Mr Adepegha Olabisi, communicated the suspension. It was made available to journalists.
In a swift reaction, Leaders of Thought and committed APC members in Idanre, in a statement, dismissed the suspension as a fabrication and a figment of the imagination of mischief-makers within the party.
The statement described the suspension letter as a desperate ploy by individuals with ulterior motives to create division and instability within the APC. It claimed the signatories of the suspension letter lacked recognition within the party and that their actions carried no legitimacy.
It further alleged forgery of some signatures on the suspension document, suggesting an intent to mislead unsuspecting party members.
“We want to categorically state that Engineer Ade Adetimehin remains the legitimate and duly elected Chairman of the Ondo State APC. His leadership has been characterized by commitment, loyalty, and a steadfast dedication to the progress of our great party.
“This baseless and malicious attempt to remove him from office is a sad reflection of the antics of a few individuals who are bent on sowing discord for personal gain,” the statement read.
The leaders expressed concern over the timing of the alleged move, noting that Adetimehin’s tenure as chairman was nearing its conclusion. They argued that this was a period to focus on strengthening the party rather than instigating conflict.
They further claimed that the actions of those behind the suspension aimed to create disaffection and confusion, ultimately threatening the party’s unity and peace in the state.
Calling on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to intervene, the leaders urged him to address the divisive activities and ensure accountability for those responsible for the purported suspension.
“We urge the governor to take all necessary steps to ensure that these individuals, who seek to destabilize the party, are held accountable and that the peace and unity of the APC are preserved,” the statement added.
The leaders reaffirmed their support for Adetimehin as State Chairman and pledged their unwavering commitment to the progress and success of the APC in Ondo State.
