The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), in Ondo State have congratulated Christian faithful on the occasion of Easter celebration.
The two political parties, which described the period as a sober reflection for all Christians called on them to be more dedicated in their faith and live the Christ life .
In an interview with The Hope yesterday, the State Director, Media and Publicity of the APC, Mr. Steve Otaloro, called on Christians to be more dedicated to the Christ life, just as the party enjoined faithfuls to use the period to pray for the blessing of God for the state and the country so that the violence experienced in the past do not repeat itself.
Otaloro, who said nothing is wrong in having many aspirants jostling for position said it leads to violence when taken to extreme.
He further enjoined every citizen to remember the state and the country as well as President Muhammadu Buhari and the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in their prayers to lead the state and the country well.
He added that through prayer the free and fair and credible general elections could be conducted next year .
Similarly, the PDP identified with the suffering of the masses and salute their resilience, sacrifice and perseverance in the face of agonising economic situation, corruption that has grown beyond human comprehension, compromise and total collapse of the nation’s security architecture.
“We are however joyous in that our Lord Jesus Christ ultimately triumphed over the forces of darkness and we are by that divine fact, confident that in the months ahead, Ondo State and indeed, Nigeria shall also triumph over its current challenges” the PDP said
The PDP stated this in a statement issued on Sunday by its State Director of Media and Publicity, Mr.Leye Igbabo and sighted by our reporter.
The statement read “As we celebrate together, our party also enjoins the people to partner with us in order to rescue and rebuild a nation that has suffered immeasurably challenges
“We thank God for making us witness this year despite all odds and we wish the people joyous celebrations in the hope that this country shall rise again”
