APC primary election: Ondo NSCDC assures hitch-free exercise

As the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State is set to conduct its primary election to pick a candidate who will represent the party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, security agencies have expressed their readiness to ensure that the exercise is conducted under a peaceful atmosphere.
Speaking with The Hope on their level of arrangement and preparedness towards ensuring a hitch-free primary election, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Ibiloye Oluyemi hinted that election is not new them and they are fully prepared to ensure that the exercise is a huge success and devoid of rancour.
According to him; “We have 203 wards where the election would be taking place.
“We are deploying our officers massively, not just because of the election, we are also mindful of the fact that other securities issues like the Oodua Nation agitators and other issues that might come up.
“You know there is going to be a lot of crowd when it comes to the issue of primary election because some people might want to hide under the election exercise and that is why we will be deploying massively to the various wards to ensure that physical national assets of government are protected during Saturday’s primary election.
“This morning, all heads of security agency had a meeting where several security issues came up and undoubtedly, we are strategising towards ensuring that tomorrow’s primary election is free and fair and to ensure that voters perform their civic responsibilities without being molested by anyone”, he assured.
