Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to channel all efforts towards the forthcoming election, underscoring the critical importance of the vote on Saturday.
Speaking during an interactive session with the special engagement committee for the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami 2024 on Thursday at the Dome, Aiyedatiwa highlighted his extensive visits across every community in the state, where he witnessed their challenges firsthand and gained insight into the necessary solutions.
Aiyedatiwa underscored the APC’s dedication to the Ondo populace, emphasising that it remained the sole party that has visited all 18 local government areas to assess their needs.
He appealed to stakeholders to return to their local communities and galvanise support, urging family, friends, and neighbours to vote at their respective polling units.
“Our focus must be solely on Saturday; that is the single most important agenda. I have journeyed across every community in this state, seen their needs up close, and I am committed to addressing the challenges they face.
“Everyone we’ve met has assured us of their full support, and now, all that remains is to make it count at the polls. I urge all party stakeholders to return to their local governments, encourage their family and friends, and ensure everyone casts their vote at their respective units.
“Let’s make Saturday a day of action. Let’s mobilise and ensure a strong turnout to secure Ondo’s future with the APC,” he added.
Also addressing the gathering, Secretary of the Special Engagement Committee, Femi Adekanbi, highlighted the committee’s commitment to the campaign.
“We began work weeks ago, combining our ideas and planning a strategic approach. We know this election is critical, and we’re ready to do what it takes to secure success.”
Representing Katsina State’s Governor who double as the chairman of the committee, Dikko Umar Radda, Deputy Governor Farouk Lawal Jobe reinforced APC’s dedication to the progress of Ondo State and national unity.
“Our party has made tremendous strides by taking power across over 20 states, and we intend to keep it going. The President has a deep commitment to Ondo’s development. Although the nation is navigating challenges, let us turn these obstacles into a source of resilience and pursue our goal of making Nigeria the greatest African country.”
Former deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, highlighted the importance of voter turnout, stating, “What we have left is what I call the mosquito campaign. It’s time to rally family and friends, to bring everyone out to vote for the APC.”
