The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, has called on all the aspirants jostling for the party’s ticket to ensure there is no rancour nor hate speeches that could cause division and hinder the party’s victory in the November governorship election.
Adetimehin stated this during the official declaration of Chief Olusola Oke as one of the governorship aspirants of the party for April, primary election.
He urged all the supporters of governorship aspirants on the need to conduct themselves in a civilized manner to give the party a landslide victory in the November poll.
While advising supporters of all aspirants to remain focused and not be distracted by any provocation, Adetimehin said it will be the joy of the party to retain power in the state.
” All of us must be on the same page. Sell yourself and your projects. Tell people who you are. No one is perfect. Concentrate on how to make this state progress.
“ And I appeal to you to cooperate with other aspirants after the primary in case you lose the election,” he said.
The chairman commended Oke for his soundness, describing him as a great and good personality per excellence.
Earlier, Oke cautioned the party against the manipulation of the party’s primary fixed for April 25.
While declaring his interest to govern the state, Oke said he is not seeking any special favour from the leadership of the party but for them to guarantee a free and fair primary for all aspirants jostling for the ticket of the party.
He said, “I don’t want to be imposed on the party. What I want is a free and fair primary to select the candidate for the party. If given the ticket, I will ensure the death of opposition parties.”
