Aquatic Federation Election: My victory, call to service —OSSC GM

The newly elected South West Representative on the Board of Aquatic Federation (NAqF), and General Manager of Ondo State Sports Council (OSSC), Mr Henry Babatunde Omoyele has promised to join hands with other board members and stakeholders to rebuild water Sport in the region.
The former national Swimming medalists, in a chat with Sporting Hope, described his electoral victory as a call to service, good leadership with commitment and selfless service for the advancement of the Aquatic Federation in South West zone.
He said:”he would leverage on government contracts to attract corporate sponsorship and endorsement for regular grassroots championships and other programmes in the zone.”
According to him, “while using the platform to attract private sponsorship , we will bring decency into our request and ensure we did not compromise integrity in whatever dealings we are having with any organisations.
“My plan for the zone is that we should have academy across the six states in the zone , which we will use Ondo State as a pilot scheme and later extend to other states.
“We are going to start in Ondo State with five Boys and Girls, we will discover them from secondary school, accommodation will be provided for them, they go to school and when they come back they will go to training.”
“If we do this it will not only advance the cause of Swimming in Ondo State but it will return the good old days glory of the sport, which the state is known for, we are a state to be reckoned with when it comes to swimming,” he said.
The Ondo State Sports Council General Manager, had defeated his opponent Mr. Olanrewanju Shittu Saheed from Lagos State with five votes against one in an election conducted and supervised by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Having emerged victorious in the election, that comprised the six SouthWest states he automatically becomes a member of the Aquatic Federation board.
