The Ondo State House of Assembly has charged security agencies in Ondo East Local Government to beef up security in the area to enhance peace and development.

The Speaker, Chief Olamide Oladiji, along with other principal officers and members, issued the charge today during a meeting with all security heads in the local government.

The House was reacting to the recent arson that occurred in the local government, calling on all hands to be on deck to prevent future occurrences.

The Speaker advised security agents to ensure synergy and work as a team to achieve positive results.

He tasked them to find out the immediate cause of the arson, stating that meaningful development can only take place when there is peace.

While urging them to look deeply inward, he emphasized the need to be proactive and protect lives and property.

According to him, the council area is known to be peaceful, and they would not stand by idly while people harm each other.

The Speaker promised legislative backing as a representative of the people to achieve desired results.
