Believe it or not, many ladies now go about without their panties. The Hope investigation has revealed.
The findings revealed that the fear of losing their panties to ritualists for money making rituals has forced a new way of life on women folks.
Several ladies interviewed described the trend as worrisome and heart breaking as many young men eager to rip a fortune now engage in thieving women undies.
The unholy act initially discussed in hushed tones have become a public discourse, sending jitters to the hearts of ladies and anxious parents.
At press time, pant theft for money making rituals has become a national and criminal scourge in which many people including clerics have been nabbed by the police.
Traditionalists, clergymen and Imams who spoke with The Hope in confidence said ladies pants have become the most sought after ingredient by ritualists in their morbid desire to make money through ritual act.
Those interviewed however kept sealed lips on how the pants would be manipulated to yield money for the baron.
Each of the interviewees however cautioned ladies to be more cautious with their pants, as to do otherwise could be deadly to the victim.
The Sapetu of Ero Kingdom, Chief Agbotifayo Adekunle warned that more bizarre deeds by desperate ritualists were on the line, like looking for female urine.
Two weeks ago, a cleric caught harvesting human faeces in Igirigiri area of Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State was lynched to death.
The suspect who was stripped naked and paraded round some major streets was later stoned to death by irate mob.
He disclosed that apart from ladies pants, they used menstrual pads, bra and handkerchief used in swabbing female bodies are traditional sacramentals needed by ritualists for money making.
According to Mrs Rebecca Oyeniyi, a public servant, the trend of stealing pants is now common in the society. “However, many of them especially ladies think that it is not happening and not true. Now, even herbalists are coming out to say that it is true indeed.
”She advised young ladies to be careful of where they go to, so that they don’t fall victim to money ritualists that are on rampage now.
She warned those who are doubting the issue to be careful as young children are being recruited into the evil venture.
She narrated the story of a teenage boy who was caught taking his mother’s pants with the intention of taking it to a ritualist who had promised him the sum of N20,000 per pant.
He was allegedly taken to the palace of the Olupele of Ipele, before he was handed over to the police.
Another woman, a Pastor, blamed the ugly trend on youths that are fixated on getting rich quickly without much labour.
She expressed the wish that God will arrest those that are involved in the evil venture so as to safeguard the lives of innocent citizens.
She further advocated that anyone caught in the act should be executed as the offence ought to be treated like murder, arguing that those who had their pants stolen for ritual purposes would eventually die.
She called for prayers to avert the ugly trend as those who had stopped wearing pants were given pants to wear by the ritualists just to catch their scent before collecting it back.
