Asaba 2022: Ondo Taekwondo team ‘II shock opponents –Coach

Ahead of the forthcoming 21st National Sports Festival (NSF) slated for Delta State, the head coach of Taekwondo in Ondo State, Ada Anthony has expressed confidence that her athletes are ready to raise the bar of  performance beyond a bronze medal won at the 20th edition in Edo State.

Anthony added that she paraded young and upcoming athletes in Edo 2020, adding that the young athletes have now matured and improved to get the job done in Asaba 2022.

“Winning is our attitude in Ondo State, and I’m sure they are going to Asaba to conquer, our target going to the festival is to win two gold medals and with our hard work and determination we are going to achieve our target”.

She bares her confidence on the athletes’ performance in the Taekwondo open championship held in Bayelsa State few months ago where Ondo State won a gold, five silver and three bronze medals.

She said , “I have no doubt in me that they are going to Asaba with their best form to become a champions. They are aware they have to beat a champion to become a champion, with my assessment in training and competitions we have attended, they are good to go”.

Anthony in a chat with Sporting Hope in Akure the state capital added that she has done all the needful for the athletes to make them roar at the games.

They are eager to fight and win, I’m always with them in training, I can see the winning spirit in them, they possessed the right attitude that would make them great.

They are discipline, dedicated and determined to win for the state.
