ASD inaugurates party in Ondo

The Alliance of Social Democratic (ASD), has officially inaugurated its Ondo State chapter with the members of the state executive council to manage the affairs of the party in the state.

The party was among the newly registered political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC) recently.

Its inauguration in Ondo State was used as point of contact to other regions in the country.

Members of the state executive of the party include Barr. Adeola Kayode (State Coordinator), Mrs. Yemi Omogbehin Oweh, (Secretary ), Pastor  Ayanfe Adeleke (Treasurer), Mrs. Victoria Osanyin (Woman Leader), Mr. Ade Mario Emmanuel (Youth Leader)and Barr. Peter Rasheed (Legal Adviser).

Addressing the crowd at the event held in Akure, the State Capital, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Emeka Okengwu, said that the ASD is a revolutionary party to actively involve Nigerians at the grassroot to change the face of politics in Nigeria.

Represented by his Southern Zone National Deputy Chairman, Otunba Akin Akinbobola, Okengwu, explained that it is part of the manifestoes of the party to engender and empower people at the grassroot to have say in politics and governance to turn around their lives.

“The party is with the aim to lift people from the perpetual suffering and poverty being faced by people so that they can live a new life.

“It will ensure people take their destinies in their hands from the bad leadership has been experiencing in the country.

Asked on the preparation of the party to fix candidates into various political offices ahead of 2019 general elections, Okengwu said the interest forms are already out.

The costs of the forms, according to him, are made affordable for youths at 50 percent and women 25 percent costs.

According to Okengwu, the reduction in the payment for the forms is to enable them mantle the position of leadership in order to build future for the country.

“The party is a platform for young men and women with principle and good ideology to contest for elections” he said

Earlier, the State Coordinator of the party, Barr. Adeola Kayode, told the crowd that the ASD ideology is to bring new idea with new faces in the country.

The state coordinator further said that the party is committed to the ideas of social democracy which promotes private enterprises with the support of the public sector through the promotion of critical and social public infrastructure.

According to him, the party would give Nigerians a leadership and governance structure that would guarantee the security of lives and properties of all Nigerians.

He advised women and youths not to sell their votes but to use their votes as their powers to vote in credible leaders that will give solution to their agitations.

Speaking with journalists, the State Woman and the Youth Leaders, Mrs. Victoria Osanyin and Mr. Ade Mario Emmanuel respectively, said the party which is different from other political parties was registered to carry along people in the grassroot to the top.

They urged women and youths to seize the opportunity in the party to take active participation in politics.
