After weeks of trials with the Qatari side, Al-Kahrabaa SC, the duo of Adeleye Aniyikaye and Gbolagade Adelowo have returned to the country.

The two players, at the end of the 2023/24 season, travelled abroad to join Al-Kahrabaa SC.

However, the deal did not materialise due to issues related to the recruitment policy in the Asian country, leaving both central defenders with no option but to return to their club.

The players have since resumed training with the Ibadan soccer giants, under the watchful eyes of coach Gbenga Ogunbote and his coaching team.

Both Aniyikaye and Adelowo played significant roles in Shooting Stars’ impressive performance last season before going abroad to explore the opportunity with the Qatari club.

Gbolagade Adelowo set a record for match appearances in the Nigerian league, having played every minute of all 38 games in the season, a feat that earned him the club’s Player of the Season award.
