Assembly poll: APC wins 23 seats , Oleyelogun, Iroju, Olajide, Maito, PDP wins 2 seats, ZLP 1 others returned

As the results of the Saturday’s March 9 House of Assembly election trickled in yesterday, the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ondo state is comfortably carrying the day.

According to the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) so far, the APC has won 23 seats out of 26 as officially declared.

The results showed that the incumbent Speaker of the Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun was re-elected for the third term from Ifedore State constituency just as his deputy, Ogundeji Iroju got second term re-election as a lawmaker representing Odigbo constituency 1.

The Parliamentary Secretary of the House, Jamiu Maito and Kuti Towase were re-elected for second term as lawmakers representing Akoko North-West constituency 1 and Akoko South East constituency respectively.

The story was the same in Owo constituencies one and two as the APC floored all other political parties in the constituencies, just as the APC incumbent lawmaker, Oluyede Feyide recorded landslide victory over all his opponents.

Also, Sunday Olajide of Akure South constituency 2 and Felemu-Gudu Bankole from Akoko South-West constituency 2, all APC candidates, were equally returned to the hallowed chambers for another four years.

The Hope also reliably gathered that the duo of Toluwani Borokinni from Akure South constituency 1 and Aderoboye Samuel from Odigbo constituency 2 have also been declared winners of their respective constituencies.

Also, APC candidates Akogun Olugbenga Omole from Akoko South West Constituency 1 and Mohammed Taofik Oladele from Akoko North West Constituency 2 won their respective seats as declared by INEC.

APC cleared Ilaje constituencies one and two as well as Okitipupa constituencies one and two, and Ese-Odo.

Similarly, APC cleared Ondo West constituency 2 as well as Ondo East State constituency.

However, Rasheed Elegbeleye of the PDP was declared winner of the

Akoko North East constituency after defeating incumbent APC lawmaker, Fatai Olotu, just as Tomide Akinribido Of the ZLP won in Ondo West constituency 1.

Also, PDP candidate, Festus Akingbaso won Idanre constituency seat.
